The Project
We crafted an award-winning submission showcasing the National Arboretum Canberra’s commitment to accessible tourism. Highlighting inclusive facilities, tailored services and community partnerships, the submission positioned the Arboretum as a leader in creating exceptional, barrier-free experiences for all visitors.
The Client: National Arboretum Canberra
The National Arboretum Canberra is a majestic 250-hectare internationally significant living collection of over 44,000 rare and diverse trees specifically dedicated for conservation, scientific research, and educational purposes. On offer are a variety of immersive eco-experiences encouraging visitors to connect with nature and learn about tree conservation and biodiversity. Visitors can stroll through serene forests, engage in educational workshops and programs, play in nature, contribute to scientific research through volunteering, attend events and taste a local bite.
The Challenge
The Arboretum team sought to showcase their dedication to accessible tourism through a well-crafted, professional tourism award submission. The challenge was to effectively highlight their extensive accessibility initiatives within strict word count requirements and limited internal resources and time to prepare the submission.
The Solution
We developed a comprehensive and streamlined approach to crafting the award submission, effectively showcasing the Arboretum’s accessibility achievements while allowing the team to focus on their day-to-day priorities.
The submission won Gold in the Excellence in Accessible Tourism category at the 2024 Canberra Regional Tourism Awards. This recognition celebrated the Arboretum’s team leadership in creating barrier-free, inclusive visitor experiences, solidifying their reputation as a champion of accessibility in tourism.
